Proposed Regional Forestry Strategy Capital Programme
The full scope and content of the proposed Regional Forestry Strategy Capital Programme were discussed at length at the Steering Group meeting on June 24th. The meeting resolved to formally endorse the proposals and leave it to the two main funding partners, Yorkshire Forward and the Forestry Commission, to fine tune the details prior to submission for approval by the Regional Development Agency.
The June 24th report is available under the 'Steering Group & Woodland Forum' tab at the top of the page. The 'Capital Programme Outline' document is not being made public just yet because of the sensitivities around some of the proposals. There are still a number of key issues to fully resolve, including questions about State Aid, the relationship of Capital Programme funding with the English Woodland Grant Scheme, and the final level of funding to be invested by Yorkshire Forward. The two main funding partners are confident about resolving these issues but until the formal submission is made and hopefully approved by Yorkshire Forward, it is not felt appropriate to release the details.
Further details will be posted on this website as the bid progresses through the Yorkshire Forward approval process.
