The ESPON research programme is analysing spatial data on a broad range of development indicators. This workshop, hosted by the ESPON UK Network, Communities and Local Government and the RTPI Development Planning Network, will

• explore the potential for using data generated by the ESPON research programme to develop and inform spatial development indicators for planning and economic development in the UK;
• explain how data already generated by the programme can be accessed and
used;
• identify gaps to be addressed in current and forthcoming ESPON research;
• suggest how ESPON can provide research outputs that are relevant to UK planning practice.

It will also provide information on opportunities for involvement in the next round of calls for research, which is due to be launched in September.
